Home Slice Pizza Perry opened with a bang—and the buzz hasn't slowed down.
Located on Commerce Street at the edge of Perry's historic downtown, this new pizza spot isn't just about great food—it's about family, faith, and community. Owned by Paul and LeAnn Register, Home Slice was built with one simple goal: to be a place where families can gather around the table, share a meal, talk, laugh, and enjoy each other's company.
And they mean that quite literally. The Registers care for seven children, ranging in age from 7 to 17 years old. Their oldest daughter, Haley, and son, Bryson, work at the restaurant alongside some of their siblings. It's a family affair in the truest sense, and Paul says it's incredibly rewarding to see his kids learning to serve others, work hard, and connect with their neighbors.

Perry Showed Up Hungry
Home Slice was born out of a conversation at a sporting event, where Paul discussed the idea of opening a pizza place with a friend who happened to be a seasoned head chef with thirty years of experience doing pizza and wings. One thing led to another, and soon he and LeAnn found themselves preparing to open the doors of a new restaurant in historic downtown Perry.
Home Slice opened on July 1 with what they called a soft launch. "It was not soft," LeAnn laughs. "We haven't stopped since."

The community response was immediate—and overwhelming in the best way. Word spread quickly, the phones rang off the hook, and people kept showing up. When the occasional football-shaped pizza popped up, customers responded with encouragement and grace. "We don't mind," they said. "We love it."
Come As You Are
Paul says the vibe is somewhere between Cheers and Friends—familiar, relaxed, and full of friendly faces. "We just wanted to be a place where our kids, their friends, and their friends' families would love to hang out," Paul says. "A place where people come in as customers and leave as friends."
Food Worth Gathering For
Home Slice uses a traditional brick oven, which takes a little longer but delivers big flavor.
Some local favorites include:
Buffalo Chicken Pizza – LeAnn's favorite.
The Perrydise – Hawaiian-style.
Wings – with a large selection of unique sauces.
Classic pepperoni rolls – marinara sauce optional.
Strawberry Cheesecake Stromboli – cheesecake in dough, rolled, baked, and topped with strawberry sauce.
Sweet Sticks – warm cinnamon breadsticks you can dip in icing.
And if you order a small calzone, prepare to be surprised. "Customers look at it and say, 'But I ordered a small,'" LeAnn laughs. "And we say, 'That is a small.'"

Surrounded By Good People
Downtown Perry business owners have rallied behind the Registers, cheering them on and even stopping by with kind words (and second orders). One local business owner took pizzas back to his employees and then returned just to tell them how much everyone loved it. Others have offered advice, encouragement, and help. As LeAnn puts it, "There's no competition here. Everyone wants everyone to succeed."
The Registers are especially grateful for the grace people have shown during their growing pains. From a hot summer with a temperamental air conditioner to the natural bumps that come with launching a new restaurant, they've done their best to keep customers informed—and keep the doors open. "We're real people," Paul says. "If we mess up, we'll apologize and make it right."
